Old Howto Release Notes

For a while I kept my releases documented on my site instead of in the document itself. I've sense put most of them back in the document, so these are redundant. But these go back further in time, though the oldest are pretty sketchy.

  • (08/25/2005) v2.2 - Added 8 new entries. Fixed a some bad links and was forced to move a few entries into the MIA (missing) section. I also removed one duplicate entry.
  • (08/07/2004) v2.1 - 11 new entries. See what's new section in howto for listing.
  • (02/18/2004) v2.0 - Ran linkchecker and for any bad links I either found a new link or removed the item. See the new section MIA for a list of the removed entries (please let me know if you know of a new home for them). I've renewed the What's New section to the HOWTO including a list of entries added for that release. So I'm dicontinuing the generated page. It was getting to be a pain anyways.
  • (02/13/2003) - One new entry (Bond) and fixing a bad link in the intro section.
  • (01/19/2003) - Cleaned up bad links, finding new ones where possible and eliminating those that seem to have disappeared. Quite a few new entries as well.
  • (02/11/2002) - Another 9 new entries, a bunch of links fixed, and a few items removed that have vanished from the net.
  • (06/16/2001) - 9 new entries, a couple link fixes and one duplicate item removed.
  • (12/08/2000) - 26 new entries plus a couple link fixes.
  • (06/23/2000) - 10 new updates and fixed some lisp-related links.
  • (04/02/2000) - Putting a dent in the backlog, I added 30+ new entries today and submitted it to the LDP.
  • (__/__/____) - Added a few new entries and uploaded it to the LDP. See the new additions section above for them.
  • (__/__/____) - I've added a "New Additions" section that lists all recent addition to the Howto. Now I can finally start adding my backlog of new items. :)
  • (__/__/____) - I've reformated the Howto a bit. I've switched around the sections and removed the "What's New" and the "Resource links" sections from the official version. Their content is still available here for now (links below).
  • (__/__/____) - Ok, I've updated the current contents. It was a lot worse than I thought, with many out of date links. There are still a couple I'm not sure about, but they're marked with (???).
  • (1.21.98) - I modified the web pages again. Reducing the graphics, making the non-framed version a more obvious option (I hope) and changing all the links so that they get rid of the frames. I also added a couple more entries and cleaned the older links out of 'What's New'.
  • (1.11.98) - Thanks to Dirk Heise for his submission of Gas. I've also removed a couple more of the non-AI oriented scheme implementations. I just felt having 10 scheme implementations listed was a bit silly, especially since some of them weren't really meant for AI stuff. If you want a listing of more scheme's look here.
  • (12.29.97) - Added a couple more entries and web links, including a patched lil-gp.
  • (10.1.97) - Ok. I struck the motherload of Baysean Networks, see the Connectionism section for more. Plus I cleaned off the 'New' flags from anything before August.
  • (9.26.97) The reformat is done! :) If you are reading this somewhere other than the master page, please take a look and let me know what you think. Now I can get back to work on my thesis...
  • (8.4.97) - Found a few bad links and fixed them. Added a new link the "Scientific Applications for Linux" AI page (very nice). Added some more stuff (not listed as I will have a new "what's new" section when I get the reformat done and will list them there). This will be my lase update until I get the new format done. I've been a bit busy and have not gotten it done, but I'm determined to finish it soon.
  • (5.18.97) - I've done a bit of cleaning in the links section. I've also added a genetic programming library (GP kernel), the ADATE system, the Sugal (GA) system, Geco (GA), Grammer Work Bench (NLP), Screamer (lisp library), SNePS, Ara, JATlite, Fuf and SURGE, and finally TIN (alife). I've also begun a reorganization of this page. This will end up with two versions of this page. One, like this one, containing the whole howto, the second will be broken up into parts to allow for troublesome connections.
  • (5.8.97) - I've updated some dead or outdated links. I've collected a ton of material to add over the last couple months, but have been incredibly busy. I'm going to try to find the time to update this page soon.
  • (3.4.97) - I removed Scsh and put it on my linux page. The more I thought about it, the less Scsh seemed an AI application. I also added Soar, a general coginitive architecture development system. It looks pretty cool and should work on Linux (any info to the contrary would be appreciated, I don't have time right now t o mess with it). Last but not least, I've added a couple more Scheme implementations to the list (can you tell I really like scheme).
  • (2.16.97) - A new robot simulator, another neural net simulator, a cellular automata simulation system, and a new (optimizable) version of prolog.
  • (1.24.97) - A couple of more agent kits. Including another Perl module and the Tocoma project. CMU lisp, a new neural net simulator, a parallel genetic algorithm library, and a few links. Plus I've redone the links to show their destinations (for the benefit of those seeing this as a plain text document).
  • (11.14.96) - I've added a new neural net simulator and a new Perl agent system.
  • (__/__/____) - I got some good tips on some new stuff. Three interesting new programming languages, plus a few applications. Thanks to Holger Schauer for the tips.
